Let the games begin...

The Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are almost upon us! As 14,000 athletes descend on London to compete in the world’s largest sporting event, the scene is set for an exciting and exhilarating summer of sport.

The competition has already kicked off with the women’s Olympic football, and we can’t wait to see what the next few weeks have in store. Will Usain Bolt retain his Olympic title in the men’s 100 metre sprint and smash his world record? Will Jessica Ennis take gold in the women’s heptathlon? Can Michael Phelps swim to success in the butterfly? Can Tom Daley dive into the record books?

An outside contender for the diving?

Don't follow - bolt towards the finish!

Olympic athletes need to demonstrate speed, strength, power and endurance, as well as extreme discipline and a huge desire to win if they are to claim the coveted Olympic gold medal. Yet even the best sportsmen and women would struggle to match the athletic prowess of some of the world’s most remarkable animals.

Play our Olympic quiz with a wild twist to discover which animal athletes run faster, jump higher and exhibit amazing feats of endurance and strength that would win them gold at the Olympic Games!

On your marks, get set...
