Undercover Investigations Are Under Attack--Join PETA's Investigations and Rescue Fund

They want to protect abusers, not animals! Help support our investigations and rescue work now. Be one of 1,000 people to join our Investigations & Rescue Fund before May 1 to help unlock an additional $100,000 for this vital work.Dear Lourenço Nisticò,

Most of us will never witness firsthand the horrors endured by animals on factory farms like those that a recent PETA undercover investigation revealed at Adirondack Farms, LLC, a massive dairy facility in New York. There, we documented that gentle cows were being struck with poles, electro-shocked on the face, and even jabbed in the ribs with a screwdriver and that helpless calves had their horn buds burned off with no painkillers and thrashed in agony as smoke rose from their seared flesh!

While such young calves were writhing in pain, lawmakers in Utah were working toward the passage of a bill that would make it a crime to photograph or record video or sound to document this kind of abuse. Just weeks ago, Utah's governor signed this bill, paving the way for agriculture industry giants in that state to prevent consumers from learning the truth about the lives and deaths of animals—and other states may soon follow.

That's part of the reason why PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund has never been more important. Right now, we're nearing the middle of our 1,000 Member/$100,000 Challenge that could make an even bigger difference for animals. If we meet our goal of 1,000 new members of our Investigations & Rescue Fund before May 1, a longtime PETA friend will give us $100,000 to support our investigative work and continue exposing cruelty to animals.

We're just a few weeks into the challenge, and 330 members have already pledged their support. That means that we still need 670 more to join so that we can unlock this $100,000 gift. Please be one of them by joining PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund right now.

Anti-investigation laws like the one that just passed in Utah have received the vocal support of not only factory farms but also puppy mills, animal testing companies, and other businesses that are often directly responsible for some of the same cruelty that PETA has exposed. So it's no coincidence that these businesses are fighting so hard to keep their abuse and neglect of animals hidden from public view. We can't allow abusers to win.

Please stand with us now as we fight to shine a light on animal abuse and educate the public about the horrors that animals face on factory farms and in similar facilities. Join the Investigations & Rescue Fund today with your monthly gift. It's a powerful and effective way to help expose and stop cruelty to animals all year long.

With the recent passage of this new bill in Utah, other states are likely to follow. That means that investigators seeking to expose abuses like those that we documented at Adirondack Farms could be at greater personal risk than ever before. And what's even worse—their evidence might never be brought to light so that it can be used to help hold animal abusers responsible for their actions.

Please support our investigative work by becoming a monthly supporter of PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund today.

Thank you for your commitment to animals.

Very truly yours,
Ingrid Newkirk
