Art&MusicaLSlides® "ARKive goes to the movies"

ARKive - a unique collection of thousands of videos, images and fact-files illustrating the world's species

Curl up with a good movie this weekend...

Here in the UK spring has truly sprung a leak. The April showers were actually downpours, leaving us with May floods and a flourishing umbrella industry! What else could we do on such soggy days than curl up on the couch with a good movie. ARKive has plenty to choose from, so we thought we’d share a few of our favourites to keep you entertained over the weekend…

If you're a fan of action movies, then these are for you:

Wolverine

With its fearsome reputation it is understandable how X-Men's Wolverine got his name.

Wolverine

Sharks.

Jaws

High speed footage of the real-life Jaws catching its prey, fur seals.

Maybe it's the goosebumps and the things that go bump in the night that you're after:

Lake Placid

What lurks beneath?  An American crocodile leaping out of the water to catch prey.

Vampire bats.

Twilight

Like the Cullen family, the common vampire bat feeds on fresh blood, but rarely kills its prey.

Or perhaps you're looking for something to entertain the kids over the weekend?

Lion King

Simba showed his strength and defended his territory from other prides as these male lions do.

Happy Feet

Mumber and friends
growing up in their Antarctic home.

There's nothing like slapstick moments of a good comedy to lift your spirits!

Kung Fu Panda

This panda is surprisingly agile, though perhaps a little more practice is needed to become a kung fu star.
